Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair

Every year Oklahoma students will have the opportunity to participate at the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF). Regional fairs may select one project to continue on to ISEF and the Oklahoma State Science and Engineering Fair may select up to four projects.

Students representing the state of Oklahoma at ISEF will receive OSSEF jackets and other merchandise. Registration, hotel, and travel expenses will also be provided in order to make this opportunity possible for all students.

An ISEF event where everyone is a winner is the pin exchange ceremony. Each Oklahoma student will be given metal pins (quite the hot commodity) that can be used for trading. Collecting pins from the other states and countries is one of the highlights of ISEF each year.

Approximately 1,800 high school students from more than 75 countries, regions, and territories are awarded the opportunity to showcase their independent research and compete for on average $4 million in prizes at ISEF.

In addition to the top winners, approximately 600 finalists received awards and prizes for their innovative research, including 24 “Best of Category” winners, who each received a $5,000 prize in addition to their $3,000 first place award.
